DID YOU KNOW?

If a small pet dies during the winter months where the climate is snow, ice and, frozen ground and you need a quick burial.......DID YOU KNOW the best place to bury them is outside under the dryer vent?  Dig the hold deep or the heat from the dryer vent will create a smell you won't forget in your lifetime.  If you have the bad luck to have another pet die or if it's a large dog....sorry, you're SOL.  Don't mean to be cruel and heartless but, other burial sites will have to be found.  The exception is......it's the perfect place for a goldfish cemetary.  Bury as many as you want....don't forget the little crosses.

I am still here.  A lot going on.  10 weeks after surgery and I can finally bend over.  Unfortunately I still cannot stand anything on the incision, therefore dresses have entered my vocabulary.  I don't wear dresses.  Period.  Can't find anything in the stores that work so have resorted to making them myself.  Without a pattern.  Very brave of me.....or I'm incredibly insane.

I figure by the time I heal from the TT w/ MR + DHR they will decide to cut open my chest and remove the cardiac monitor.  At least hopefully by then I'll be in jeans again by then.

If this poem has the same effect on you as it did on me then my posting it will be worth the effort.

Glass Flowers

This past summer I attempted to make glass flowers.  The hardest part was finding glass plates, bowls, etc, especially the ruffled edges ones.

The best plates I found were what use to be a tiered cupcake stand.  Because they were tiered they each had a hole in the middle and a rim on the bottom.  I had hoped to bolt the pieces together but, again couldn't find the right glass pieces.  I glued a tie wrap in but with the rim at the bottom I didn't need to use it.

I wrapped galvanized wire around the rim and twisted it until it was really tight so I was sure it would not come off.  I made the wire long enough to wrap around the deck post.

This didn't turn out like I had envisioned ...again, because I couldn't find the right size glass pieces reasonably priced.  I was not paying $8 - 10 for a glass bowl or plate.

The bottom plate again is part of the tiered cupcake stand.  I couldn't find a bowl, plate that I liked for the next layer.
Galvanized wire wrapped around the ridge on the bottom and hung it on a deck post.  To glue them together I started out using aquarium glue but that was too expensive so switched to a marine silicone.  You don't want a flexible silicone because it doesn't set up and your plates, etc fall off.  If you send your hubby to the store to buy it be sure to check the label before using it or you will be redoing all your hard work.

Sorrythis space has been empty.  It took a long time to recover from having the loop recorder implanted, longer than I thought.  It's a new year, hopefully it will be a better year.

I scribbled this out in paint awhile ago....it's late but, better late than never.  For the very few who read this blog....I humbly and sincerely appreciate it.

Totally Loopy

Yesterday with mild sedation, which means you're awake....you just don't give a shit, an alien was implanted in my chest.  You feel the needles sink into your chest and pray it has time to work when you hear the word "SCALPEL!"  Not to be confused with the alien on the right side of my chest that feels like lead disguised as silicone and, the 6 screws holding my jaw together.

A cardiac loop recorder.  Fortunately it doesn't take pictures or record voices.

With a bag of lead, 6 screws and a loop recorder does that make me........fake, a bit loopy and screwed?

What I'm not good at

Page design.  I suck.  Can never get it the way I want it.  Other bloggers have great designs....mine is simple, very easy.  I obviously fried THAT part of the brain.

Because it's no help, whatsoever.... I couldn't even get the cat to look right.  Waiting for the light.
